It looks like this year will be a white Christmas in Asheville! Last Friday and Saturday we got 17 inches of snow and it has barely melted. We have made Christmas cookies, drunk our fill of hot chocolate, had snowball fights and sledded for 4 days. Yesterday was my last run though.

Since the snow had melted a little on Sunday and refroze that night, Monday's sledding was more liking skidding across ice. One of my boys really wanted me to go down the huge hill in the backyard with him. We got off to a good start until we hit some hard packed snow that felt more like rock. The disks we were riding gave no protection. We bounced down that hill hitting each bump with a bam, bam, bam. I face planted in the snow at the bottom and my son went rolling another direction. He jumped up ready to do it again, but me - not so much. Shooting pain radiated from my tailbone. I told him to go ahead, I would watch him while icing my bottom in the snow. ---- Oh, the things we do to be good mothers!
